Synopsis In 1968, Michael arrives at his apartment on Manhattan’s Upper East Side to prepare for Harold’s birthday party. Michael received a call from his friend Donald, who arrived early because the psychiatrist’s appointment had been canceled. Michael mourns his aging life and his debts. Michael’s old roommate from Georgetown, Alan, calls Michael in tears saying he has an urgent matter to tell him personally. Michael invites Alan to the party and reminds all the guests that Alan is heterosexual and knows nothing about homosexuality. Michael’s at sunset Emory arrives with her sweetheart Hank and Larry. which the relationship between the two is strong Bernard came with a stack of books for Donald. before he entered the party atmosphere. Alan called Michael from the phone booth. Tell him you won’t be coming to the party. and meet with Michael the next day for lunch instead. Larry and Bernard dance to “Heat Wave”. that Emory and Michael attended despite having previously spoken with Michael. Alan arrives at the party and finds Michael and his friends dancing. He bonds with Hank. which he misunderstood as being straightforward and expressed discomfort at Emory’s majestic behavior. Michael takes Alan to the bedroom to discuss Alan’s urgent conversation.
